McApple — Privacy Policy

Who we are

McApple is an independent rock band based in West Flanders, Belgium. This website (mcapple.be) is run by the band. For any privacy question, contact us at contact@mcapple.be.

What we collect

We only collect data you actively submit through a form on this site:

Newsletter signup

Your email address.

Booking request

Name, email, phone number (optional), event date, event type, venue, expected audience size, and any message you write.

Guestbook message

Your name and message. Unlike the other forms, this is published publicly on the site once approved — don't include anything you wouldn't want visible to anyone.

We don't use tracking cookies, and we don't run any third-party ad or tracking pixels. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to see aggregate visitor numbers — it's cookieless and doesn't identify individual visitors.

How we use it

Newsletter emails are used only to let you know about new music, shows, and merch drops.
Booking request details are used only to get back to you about your event.
Guestbook messages are reviewed by the band, then published on the site if approved.

We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How it's stored

Newsletter signups are stored in a Redis database (hosted via Vercel's marketplace) so the band always has a record of who's subscribed, even if a notification email fails to send. Each signup also triggers a one-off notification email to the band's inbox via Resend (our transactional email provider).

Booking submissions are sent once, by email, to the band's inbox via Resend and aren't otherwise stored by the website. From that point on, they live in our email inbox like any other message you'd send us directly.

Guestbook messages are also stored in the Redis database so they can be displayed on the site — pending messages await approval there before anyone can see them; rejected messages are deleted outright. The site itself is hosted on Vercel.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you can ask us to:

tell you what data we hold about you,
correct it,
delete it (e.g. unsubscribe, have us delete a past booking email, or take down a guestbook message), or
stop using it.

Just email contact@mcapple.be. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be) if you feel your rights haven't been respected.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
